A Wee Bit Behind....

My contribution for this month's Mid-Century Modern Bee is getting done right in the Nick of Time!

Carla has her eyes set on a very fun quilt for her month

So our challenge was to do a block with this as our inspiration...

Since this month of April has been full of fun and flowers....
I thought a basket of flowers would suit Carla....

the base of the basket is pieced and the handle machine appliqued...the flowers were hand appliqued with teeny yo-yo's for the center....

it is a 12" block and the basket is a bit off center to add a touch of whimsy!

While I stitched today I was surrounded by a few of the flowers which decorated the pews in the church.  Small bunches of tulips hung from grey striped ribbons on the ends of the pews....so sweet!

The newlyweds are in Ireland! Touring, visiting family, and having a blast!

She Was Beautiful.....

He was handsome.  The wedding was magnificent and the reception was so much fun!  My feet are still recovering!
I will be posting more...
I only have a few pics from those who took some shots...I was too busy dancing and talking!
Photos from the photograper will be available to me in a couple of months.
I have so much to tell you...it was a year of planning, but well worth it.
It was magical!

Tis The Week!

It is almost impossible to believe that the week of the celebration we have been incubating for a year is upon us!

wedding programs

We have honey in pots....153 of them!

This is local Ohio honey from Honeyrun Farms...it is fabulous!

These little pots will be sitting on the plates of each guest when they arrive...

for the guests in the hotel....we have boxes of goodies to welcome them!

I love details! Organizing ideas and putting them into motion is so much fun for me!  The bride will wear this lovely pin in her hair...

And the mom of the bride will be dancing in these AAAAAHHHMMMAZing shoes!

Part of the fun has been having packages arrive almost daily....
but one of the most wonderfully heartfelt gifts came from my dear friend Susan of PatchworknPlay.
Susan designed and stitched a pillow cover for Molly and Kyle!  It matches the wedding quilt perfectly!

Molly was over the moon when she opened it...she also loves detail...and Susan's attention to detail is beyond compare!
The embroidery, the hand applique and the choice of fabrics are pure perfection!

You can read more about it here!

Happy Monday!

Sorry....long over due....

Two weeks from tomorrow we celebrate the wedding of our oldest daughter!  It is so exciting and very busy.  I had no idea how busy it would be...and tiring.
I have done little sewing, and almost no blog reading....I am so sorry....
But I have been working with some fabulous quilters in the shop!
We recently finished Anna Maria Horner's Feather Bed Quilt!
This group of quilters knocked my socks off!  AMAZING!

 Megan!  A first quilt!
AAAAAAHHHHMAZING!

Amanda! I love this Essex background in Black and the aqua stems!

Jenny's quilt for baby Milo!  And, tonight baby Milo was born! Welcome Milo!

Kelli used Essex, as well, on this fantastic quilt! I love the coral stems!  Wonderful, Kelli!

Tonight we had a couple of finishes for Denyse Schmidt's Flowering Vine Quilt....

This is Sara's quilt.  It is breathtaking!  A bright green vine on navy kona background....brilliant.  And the stitching!  White perle cotton in graphic lines! I LOVE IT!

This is Morgan's Flowering Vine!  I love the Essex background in Leather...with this teal polka dot vine!  Yummy!

I can't tell you how much fun it is to sew with these women. What a lucky girl I am!
Happy Friday!
