Wacky Wednesday!

Molly has been quilting like a fiend since this Crazy Dresden idea popped into her head!
Now she has the front all complete....

She used the Peacock Lane fabric for the borders and the corner blocks....

She cut the corners so two would be this fantastic tree and two elephants!
Of course she has embroidered all over this quilt!

In proper Molly fashion!

And now she has the back pieced...the quilt basted...so let the quilting begin!

Be still my heart :)

I had to giggle...Molly said to me today....'I play old timey mandolin with a bunch of guys whose average age is about 65 and I quilt....I am thinking maybe I need a more youthful hobby!'
Nah....you are great just the way you are, Molly!
Happy Wednesday!

  7. What fun Mary! You know how much I'd like my daughter to have in interest in fabric and quilting? Maybe my granddaughter!!

  8. It's a great quilt and I really love the embroidery. That background seems to make any contemporary fabric sparkle. Perhaps I should paint my walls that color and then stand next to them. Do you think it works on women the way it works on fabrics?

  9. Molly has great talent and creativity and it shows in this wonderful piece of work which reflects just what she is - perhaps she needs to put a mandolin in there too!

  18. I love the combo of patchwork and embroidery. I did something similar for some blocks our of "fancy" material. I made the blocks at least 30 years ago, then about 1.5 years ago started embroidery on them like the old crazy quilts. I don't know when I will get them finished into a quilt. see at http://tangledthreads-beads.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
