My niece is having a baby boy and I have been helping her work on a mobile for the nursery....
now I am on to a quilt for the babe...
Essex yarn dyed linen is perfect for the body of the quilt....
with simple clouds of a waffle knit...appliqued...
at first I was a bit skeptical about attempting needle turn applique with a knit fabric, but it worked beautifully! You may notice a few little 'dots' on the body of the applique...that is just basting glue and will wash out.
next to give some definition to my clouds and a bit of refreshing rain...
I love the texture....
at the end of the rain path I have added some gingham drops...
some linen thread for the quilting is on the way...
can't wait to show you the finished quilt!
happy monday!

ReplyDeleteI love the clouds Mary. I made a cloud shaped window valance for my son when he was little. Three separate clouds were hung in overlapping layers with a quilted sun peeking out. Miss those days. He's in college now.
