Instagram is addicting. I can waste hours looking at Instagram...it used to be Pinterest that pulled me away from what I should be doing. I still have binge Pinterest sessions, but I think IG is here to stay.
It's funny because it doesn't take long, before you pick up on what is 'hot' on IG. There has been a fun curvy block floating around....sort of a wedding ring meets the flowering snowball. Finally, I had to investigate and found it is the January Block designed by Liz at Lady Harvatine.
I purchased the block...great buy at $4! And printed it off! Made templates...started stitching!
It has curves...and is probably a little more challenging than the Flowering Snowball.
But I love curves! And I am quite smitten with this block!
One block down and one cut out! Looks like I have another start!
What's your latest start?
happy thursday

Thanks to you my latest start will be this block that I saw on your IG feed....tracked it down, bought it and have printed it ready for the weekend! I loved Flowering Snowball and love the look of this block as well! I am quite intrigued by curves at the moment! Gotta love IG , blogs and the internet in general for providing us with endless inspiration! ...oh and PDF patterns available instantly!
ReplyDeleteIG is addictive, small bites of pretty things! Your block looks great, I have the pattern, how long will I last before I just give in? My templates are already made...
ReplyDeleteI've been enjoying seeing these blocks on IG too. Yours is beautiful- great fabrics! I just started an aqua blue string quilt because of IG peer pressure, looks like I'm doing one quilt In every color of the rainbow now! #sewingarainbowofquilts good grief!

(your block is adorable!)
You may be pleased to know that your block on flickr was the very first I saw! It seems very "you" and I can't wait to see what you make of it/them :)
ReplyDeleteMy latest start turned into a finished quilt top. Last week I started the free Primitive Sampler from Primitive Quilts and Projects. It was so much fun to work on I couldn't stop. Love your block. Hugs
ReplyDeleteyour block looks beautiful as usual. I just love the way you mix all these gorgeous fabrics together.
ReplyDeleteMy last start was my Four-in-Art mini! But now that it's finished I'm thinking of cutting into my last DS purchase and do a triangle quilt- your way! It's been on the list for way too long!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. I saw you mention this block on IG. It was easy to look at and say, "That's a gorgeous lillte block" and move on. Now that you've posted about it, I have to look at the pattern and add it to my list. The flowering snowball I made in yout QAL is still my most favorite quilt I have ever made and now THIS. Oh my. My latest start was a clamshell quilt, until I can start this block.
ReplyDeleteI've just checked out your IG profile! No wonder you spend so much time on there- you follow over 1300 people! You DO love it, don't you!?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful block! Gorgeous fabric choices :)
ReplyDeleteI am trying not to start and to finish instead. I will beat the WIP pile into submission!

ReplyDeleteI don't use instagram so this block is new to me. You're right that it's like a cross between a wedding ring and a flowering snowball.Congratulations on the shop opening!

ReplyDeleteThanks, Mary, for showing me this terrific block. I also bought it after seeing your great interpretation. It's just beautiful. I love your fabric choices.
