Sleepless in Columbus....

We were awakened at 3:00 am this morning by tornado sirens....the family and dog hurried down to the basement.  Thank goodness nothing happened other than lots of thunder and wind and lightning...
We all went back to bed and the dog {being half chicken} jumped up in bed right between Mike and I.  Well, I had about 8 inches of bed and Mike and the dog had the rest.....so needless to say I am pooped today....

I did a little mindless machine quilting....

And I took a nap :)
See you tomorrow!

  2. Oh, tornadoes!! I hope that's as close as they get to you! Pretty quilting! And a 'nana' nap is a great way to spend an afternoon!

  3. If that is mindless quilting I would love to see what you manage on a full night of sleep and rapt attention!! Sorry about the tornado alert though - must be very worrisome when it happens.

  4. Scary - at least it is only the cat or hubby snoring that wake me up in the night. Mind you the snoring can sound scary too!

    Keep safe and sewing!

  6. Okay, I LOVE a good thunderstorm but after all my years in the Midwest, those are usually accompanied by tornado sirens which I HATE!

  7. I can't imagine how that must feel, hope you get some good rest. And your mindless quilting looks pretty good to me. I have just started FMQ and it is proving to be a real challenge.

  8. That must have been so terrifing, great that the storm passed by with you all safe.

  9. It's that time of year, isn't it. I don't think the sirens would be loud enough to wake me up where I live...but maybe the wind would...don't want to find out...so glad that it was a false alarm for you. That quilting pattern is the first one my daughter tried on a quilt....great one for mindless quilting!

  11. I am so glad nothing happened to you and your family! I watched the news earlier this week about all of the tornadoes in South Carolina and just cried. It was so sad! Your mindless sewing is beautiful... amazing that you can do that on a few hours of sleep! Hope you get some good sleep tonight!

  12. I hope you caught a nice nap! That doesn't look like "mindless" quilting - it's beautiful! Did you use a pattern or mark it up first? I have some of that green fence-like fabric in blue! Love it!
