Have Machine....Will Travel......

As most of you know, my mom has been very seriously ill.  Last week my sister and I brought her home to take care of her.  We have moved into our mother's house....we have very understanding husbands :)

My sister is a nurse {very helpful} and we have plenty of folks willing to lend a hand.  The past two weekends have been full of grandchildren visiting and sleeping in every nook and corner of this house.
My sister has her computer and I have my machine.  We sit opposite each other....sharing memories, stories, coffee and snacks and lots of love....

I managed to get a wee bit of cutting and stitching done today.  The first time since February that I have been in front of my machine.

So I just wanted you to know where I am and what I am doing.  Thanks for not abandoning me.....I will be back on track one day.  Tomorrow my sister and I will get to go out for a bit while a volunteer sits with my mom.  I am going to the local quilt shop!!!  Yippee!  My sister will be at the library....and then we will have lunch out together.  Life is Good.
Happy Tuesday All!
mary

PS....tomorrow I have a sweet little visitor to share with you all....he arrived in Ohio from lands far away!!!

I am sending you much love and prayers for strength. Having just gone through a similar experience with my father I know how difficult it is but I am happy to have been there for him. So nice that your sister is also able to be there with you.

God blessed me and my mother with letting her head to him before we took her home for hospice care. I hope the time spent with your mother is wonderful and blesses you, your sister and your mother without causing too much stress for any of you.

How wonderful that you and your sister are able to care for your Mother at this important time. My sister and I did a similar thing for our Father in the last months of his life when he was failing. Dad alternated, month by month, staying with my sister and me. It worked so well, Dad was well cared for and happy and we felt we had nurtured him to the end. A reversal of roles for a wonderful Dad. Like you, we had very kind and understanding husbands.
Enjoy your day out, you will both come back to your nursing duties refreshed and invigorated. God bless you all.

The family gathered around your mother, is proof that she's had a life worth living. The best lives have few or no regrets. The time you and your sister spend with your mom will forever be precious memories for the two of you. This also sets an example for your children, the path for their lives worth living. We would never abandon you, we will be here when you get back.
