I have, for the first time, joined a Bee! A Bee for quilters of, let's say, a more mature age....ugh. Okay...I am certainly not one to focus on age...but it does get my knickers in a knot when folks have the misguided notion that if you are of a certain generation, you just can't relate. Your ideas are old and out of touch.

Great looking blocks! and I'm totally with you on the age thing. Seems like my knickers are permanently in a knot (which is one of the hallmarks of age, isn't it, ha ha). Nothing age related about sensibility and style! Loving yours!

ReplyDeleteGreat colours in your blocks. Like you, I get annoyed at being labeled behind the times because of age, but then I think back and remember how arrogant I was in my twenties. Not on purpose, I think it's just the way youth can look at age. Is you bee a closed shop?

These blocks are my colors! Love them. I think the bee button is very clever. I bet I qualify for this....sshhhh...don't tell anyone! I remember that we share the same birthday but I wonder if its the same year? Email me your year and ill email you mine! :-D. Is this wedding quilt for your daughter?
ReplyDeleteI received a churn dash quilt pattern as a door prize when I first started quilting about nine years ago. I never made the pattern since is is made in traditional prints and colors, so I never had an interest. After looking at your blocks I have a change of heart about the block and quilt pattern. I think the colors that you have used are exciting and fresh. I am glad that I still have the pattern to use. Thank you for helping see a traditional quilt block in a new refreshing light.
