A Year of Pillows, Baby Quilts and Unfinished Projects.....

I feel like I did more pillows this year than in years past....
Pillows are like doing a mini quilt and soooo much faster....

This rainbow pillow was done by Molly and proudly sits in my family room....

Union Jack....

A Dresden Plate...

Another Union Jack....

A pillow for Enzo...

A pillow to match the Coin Quilt....

I have had a few babies to sew for this year....

And a work-in-progress....

I have lots of ideas floating around for projects in the New Year.  But here are a few I will continue to work on and finish....fingers crossed!!!

Whew!!!  Better get to it!
Happy Wednesday!

  2. I found your site on Pinterest. I have been researching and trying to find paper pieced hexagon quilt examples on the internet and have not had a lot of luck. I was happy to see what you have done. Along with all of your other beautiful creations.
My MIL passed away last year at 85 years of age. Several years ago she started a PP hexagon quilt made of little, teeny, tiny one inch hexagons that are about 3/4 of an inch finished. I have inherited approx. 2300 hexagons! Some already appliqued on squares but those really need to be removed and re-appliqued on new fabric. I have sorted them according to color and shade and now have to start piecing. But I do need to find a different pattern and find fabric for backing etc. the only quilt I have ever made is 9 patch done by machine and only tied and that was 33 years ago! But I have to finish her quilt. ;o) If I have hexies left over I will make something out of them also. Guess I better go to the quilt/fabric store and get some advice and a pattern. Wish me luck! LOL

  12. Your blog is beautiful and always filled with inspiration. Thank you for your hard work...I know it takes away time from quilting but is so beneficial for us! I am currently working on my first hexagon quilt. I have been trying to think of a way to combine the flowers using a smaller element than the hexagon. When I saw your tiny green diamonds, I knew that was just what I was looking for. But...I have no idea how to make those. Would you mind sharing how you did that? Is there a paper piece out there online somewhere that I need to buy? Thank you for your help in advance. Brenda

  16. Hi Brenda! I hope you find this reply...I couldn't locate your email address. I used a pattern from this rather old craft book for my hexagon. Here is a link to the book - amazingly it is still available on Amazon!http://www.amazon.com/Better-Gardens-Traditional-American-Crafts/dp/0696015307/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1325166682&sr=1-1

The link is rather long...the book is a Better Homes and Gardens Traditional American Crafts. It has several quilt patterns as well as other crafts. A very interesting book. Good luck!
