Well, October has turned out to be a very difficult month this year...
I mentioned in my last post that our dear Flanders was feeling a bit under the weather. She seemed to be on the mend, but unfortunately we lost her last week. A tumor hiding in her bladder. Darn it!
She was 14 years old, so I knew the day was approaching. But I didn't realize how difficult this would be. She meant so much to our family. She loved us and we loved her.
Sorry for being such a lazy blogger lately...and for not being consistent in my blog reading, as well. I promise to try to do better. I have some exciting things to share!
Give your pets an extra squeeze.
xo mary
Sorry Mary. It is so hard! We too lost our Ol' dog of 14 two months ago. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear this, Mary! She was beautiful and surely most sweet dog! It's always difficult to loose a dear friend and after being together so many years even more. Our little 'Foxy' was 16 when she passed away 2012 (few days before our wedding). You need the time to think about her and all the lovely moments you had together. Don't worry about blogging until you feel ready for that again. x Teje
ReplyDeleteShe will always hold a special place in your heart Mary. Hugs...
ReplyDeleteHugs for you Mary.
ReplyDeleteSo very sorry to hear of your loss! Our furry family is so important to us! It is so sad ...actually devastating after we live so closely with them and for so long. God bless you and your family. My condolences to you all!

ReplyDeleteI am so sorry, Mary! Pets are family members, and it is hard when we loose them. Take your time. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your loss. I know Flanders was a very special part of your life.
ReplyDeleteI have loved and lost special dogs as well. My heart goes out to you and your family. I found comfort knowing I gave them a great life while they were with me, got them the best care possible while sick, and didn't let them suffer.
ReplyDeleteMary - I am so sorry. We lost our girl Fiona in March. We all miss her here, but we are so grateful to have had her for ten years. Take it easy. Pam

Thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteI'm so very sorry Mary. I lost my Jada a few months ago and I have felt like I'm missing a piece of myself. It's so hard to lose someone that was a constant daily source of love. Leaves such a hole ..
ReplyDeleteSo sorry. Yes our animals are a very important part of our lives and it hurts deeply when we lose them.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry! What a sweet looking girl. A pet is part of the family, and losing them is so hard.
ReplyDeleteOh Mary, I'm so sorry. It's always just horrid. I hope you find another furry friend soon to share all your love with, I think it really does help ease the pain. Not that those we've lost can ever be replaced, because they can't; we just make room in our hearts for someone new, who helps us get our smiles back.
ReplyDeleteOh dear. I'm so very, very sorry. This hits too close for comfort. Our Hogan is 11 now, and we can see he's slowing down. Losing him will be so hard. I dread the day. I know you are suffering, and I'm terribly sorry.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry . . . losing a beloved pet is very very hard.

ReplyDeleteBoy do we know that pain. Oh yes, the pain is overwhelming sometimes. Our pets are indeed part of our family and when they get old, they are just like gramma and grampa. we love them. God bless you and your family.
The good thing? Flanders is safe now.
So very sorry for your loss, Mary. Our pets hold a very special place in our hearts, don't they? Always there, always loving, we are the center of their world. Lighting a candle to light the way for your sweet Flanders.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly how hard it is - we lost our dog of 14 years last year too :*( We have a new puppy, and she helped ease the pain some, but we will never forgot Tucker. HUGS
ReplyDeleteOh Mary, I am so very sorry. I understand what you're going through - I lost my dog when she was 10 for the very same thing. It was heartbreaking. We are so fortunate though to have been blessed by such selfless and just-happy-to-be-with-us family members. My thoughts and hugs are with you.
ReplyDeleteSO sorry for your loss!!!!
ReplyDeleteMary, so sorry to hear you lost your dear sweet friend. Take comfort in knowing that you've provided her a very good life in a family that loved her so much. Big hugs, Barbara

ReplyDeleteMary, hope you're week has gotten a little better. I know your sweet doggie will be having fun in heaven, like Reese said. Much love my friend!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your dear Flanders. I know how you feel. I lost my Lucy in May and she was 14. I guess 14 is the golden years for dogs; I've read of many pups on quilting blogs I follow who go on to Rainbow Bridge at that magical age. Put a cute picture of Flanders on your computer desktop screen. I see my Lucy every day there and she makes me smile :)
ReplyDeleteOh, Mary! I am just now reading this as I, too, am behind on my blog reading. I'm so sorry. Losing a beloved pet is soooo hard. Be good to yourself, friend.
ReplyDeleteMary, I'm so sorry to hear about Flanders. This is so hard. Be good to yourself, friend.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for your loss, Mary. It is so hard to lose such a dear companion. I lost my sweet cat Jack earlier this year after a very sudden illness, and I still get teary when I think about him. I hope you and your family are comforted by knowing that you gave Flanders the best life and family. She was very lucky!
ReplyDeleteI often jest that I would be more upset to lose my dog than my husband. How much less our lives would be without our canine pals. I am so sorry to hear of your loss.
ReplyDeleteI'm so, so sorry. I lost my cat earlier this year (she was 15), I know how awful these things are so my heart goes out to you. Bethxx
