I've, finally, been able to get the borders assembled and added to the top....
This hasn't been an easy task...way too much "life" going on around here. Two of my daughters started classes at the university this week...so lots of juggling money to purchase books, getting schedules tweaked...hopefully it is all settled now.
So this morning I added the borders to this amazing quilt...the plan is to purchase backing fabric and baste this weekend. Whoo-hoo! Then I only have 3 quilts to quilt! WooT!!!
The rest of the day, I will focus on #1 of the twin baby quilts....hand quilting!
Have a great weekend!
Mary
That handquilting looks great! Do you use a hoop or just pin baste? I think I'm going to hand quilt the quilt top I'm putting together now. It will be my first!
ReplyDeleteI do both. First I baste the quilt with pins...then when I go to hand quilt I put the quilt in a hoop. Always start in the middle of the quilt and work your way out to the sides and the top and bottom... sometimes I will need to take out a pin if it is stuck in the hoop and pulling on the fabric. Let me know how your quilt is going. Exciting!
ReplyDeleteOooh, I love that new quilt top. And your hand quilting - perfection!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work! I'm kind of stalled out on a handquilting project. You are inspiring me to tackle it again.
ReplyDeleteThis stashbuster is a wonder - so much colour and the pattern is amazing!! The border adds a little rest to it!!
ReplyDeleteOh I love that quilt. The bright colors and the black. Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! Hopefully, I will get it basted today and can begin hand quilting. The pattern calls for yo-yo's where the spots meet in the center! I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteOh Mary!!! It looks absolutely fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kelly!
