Thank you.....thank you!

I am such a fortunate girl!  A few weeks back I entered a giveaway on Sarah's blog....and I won!  Not only did I win a sweet bundle of Sarah Fielke fabric, but Sarah packed sweets and a fantastic little pincushion kit in my parcel....thanks Sarah...
And if you are not already following Sarah's AMAZING blog - you can find it here!
Then (if that was not enough to make my day) my sister stopped for a visit and gave me two fabric reference books she picked up in Williamsburg!  What fun!  Thanks sis!
And to round out my day....I finished this adorable SLEEP quilt....
This is a Denyse Schmidt pattern.  I found it in the winter issue of International Quilt Festival Magazine...
I pieced this quilt with different shades of ivory....and added a piece of this fabric...
I think it gives this quilt more texture and depth...I machine quilted in a loopy pattern...
I love the simplicity of this pattern....just the word SLEEP....which is what most of us will want to do after all the festivities this week :-)

Good Golly Miss Molly!!!

Well, in case any of you have been wondering about Molly and what she has been doing with herself lately...let me tell you....that girl is not a slacker.  Molly is finishing her Senior year of college (Spanish major)...in addition to being a swim instructor at our local Y....and then there is her embroidery.  She has been working for some time on this little beauty...
I can only show you bits...it is not yet complete...
Her plans are to make this into a pillow...***for me, I hope***
Amazing, right?
I have been plugging away at the pickle-dish quilt and also working on a few Christmas-y items...
And a few coin purses intended as Christmas gifts...made with linen and some vintage fabric from my local flea market....

Tea Time....

Another sweet project from Scandinavian Stitches....
I am beginning to think these will be difficult to part with...the teapot fabric is vintage.  I found this as a feedsack pillow case in a great cheese/flea market shop in Plain City.  The other fabrics are from Sew To Speak :)
Molly helped with stitching the steam from the cup!
The buttons - front and back - are from my niece who is lucky enough to live near The French General in Burbank, Calif.  I love how the trim matches the tea cup!  Or in my case coffee cup....
Enjoy your Monday!

Scandinavian Stitching....

It's that time of year!  Following Halloween many of us begin thinking of the holidays and gift making....I found many fantastic projects in Scandinavian Stitches by Kajsa Wikman!  They are just my style of gift-giving projects...so sweet and not too complicated....
My crows sport some happy Japanese fabric....
Love this little fox with a bib....

So with the time change...I was able to accomplish a lot of the usual house "maintenance" this morning and still had time to start project #2....hopefully, more to come tomorrow!

Busy Week!

I was away for a few days this week helping my mom.  I love visiting my mom overnight...she pampers me terribly - even though I was there to help her.  We always have a good time together.  Lots of laughing and plenty of conversation :)
I did make a trip to the local fabric store and then on Thursday, we went to Charm and Mrs. Miller's...I did my part to boost the economy.  Not only did I find fabric, but I also found Marti Michell rulers (which was a fantastic find since I have to order them from Georgia).  And a little finger rotary cutter...might be useful for little templates.
Then on the way home, I stopped at Sew To Speak and continued my spending spree....
But just in case you thought it was all play...I continued working along on this....
And just a little peek at my quick project from today...it just needs some binding and I will take proper pics...
Okay...that's it for now!  Just one more thing...thanks for all the wonderful comments on my entry for the Quilt Festival!  I love getting comments...so you made me one happy camper!
