My poor little blog has been neglected for far too long! It seems I can't get back into the regular blogging groove...
But that doesn't mean I haven't been sewing....
I have been buried under a mountain of Swedish Blooms!
If you haven't picked up Patchwork Please! by Ayumi Takahashi...you need to find a copy fast!
There is no doubt I love quilting and craft books...but this one is really good! I have used it many times for little gifts....
So recently, I decided to make the Swedish Bloom quilt as a sample and possible class for the shoppe
If you follow me on Instagram {marysdugan} you know I have been piecing blooms and leaves!
the top is finished....
it is not small, so a little difficult to photograph on my kitchen table...and it is far too cold to go outside!
I used Riley Blake gingham for the outside section of each bloom...
the border...I pieced using a plethora of Japanese fabrics and a good healthy dose of Suzy Ultman...
I need to get a backing {definitely gingham} and get to the quilting...
but today is a good day for some quiet hand stitching....
stay warm friends!
mary

Great quilt. Where can I find this pattern??? Swedish Blooms would be perfect for my Grand Nieces quilt. Thanks for sharing your progress.

ReplyDeleteFabulous!!
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love it!!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favourite quilts so far - maybe it's the counter to the miserable grey weather here in the UK, or it's Scandi feel (my favourite style) but I really, really love it. I'm going to pop over to Amazon and order the book as well :) Thanks for the cheery images, can't wait to see it finished. Bethx
ReplyDeleteLinda a sua colcha, tecidos alegres, cores vivas!!!
