Working Hard....Hardly Sewing......

I like a simple life...not too busy....orderly....
and it seems the last few months my life has been anything but....
I have so many irons in the fire...I can barely figure out what to tackle next.

But as time ticks on....each year a certain day creeps up on me and smacks me head on....it is that reminder that another year has been layered on these old bones...

As an early celebration, my dear bloggy friend, Susan...sent a very nice - very heavy package my way.

Suz knows me well. Isn't it funny how a friend you have never met in person can know you so well - just through emails....

The book, The French Dog by Rachael McKenna,  is gorgeous...beautiful pictures of France and the sweetest pictures of hugable, adorable pups!

so cute!

awwwww...

And then she threw in a couple of precious extras...a sewing sisters notepad and a teeny koala button!
So sweet...

I was also the recipient of a very nice collection of solid cottons...from Oakshott...
I will just give you a sneak peek here and talk to you more about that later...I want to dedicate a post to this magnificent fabric...it is fabulous!!!

and, while I haven't had much time for machine piecing, I have had a few minutes every now and then to work with some luscious Liberty!

hope to see you again tomorrow!

A Surprise Gift from a Sweet Friend!

This girl.....received the sweetest package from overseas....Australia to be exact.... from this girl....at

Inside, I found a letter and several packages all wrapped in tissue paper....even the tissue paper was special....different from the tissue paper we have in the states :)

Not only was there a lovely note....but a tissue keep for my purse....someone is always in need of a tissue and usually I have to just dig one out which doesn't always look so pleasant....so now we will have neat little tissues available when they are needed! Yay!

just look at this adorable fabric!  very vintage looking isn't it?

Tucked inside this was a precious little scissors magnet....which is now residing on my refrigerator....

isn't this so precious!

Then there was the same seam ripper I had admired on Susan's blog....what a sneaky girl!  Isn't this the most clever seam ripper....

And if that was not enough....she made a fantastic mug rug for my morning coffee!

it's a tea cup!

So I sat down this afternoon and put a cup of coffee on my new mug rug!

This was such a sweet surprise :)  And if you haven't visited Susan's blog....you should pop over and see what she has been working on...she creates some amazing quilts and quilty projects!  I am always in awe of her paper piecing!  Thank you Susan....you are a dear!
