More Flowering......

In keeping with the theme of the Flowering Snowball block....I thought I would bring you the real deal!!!

  

This is the Snowball Bush from my front yard....we have had this plant for about 24 years....I look forward to seeing it bloom every summer....

While I am at it here are a few other pretties from my garden...

And now let me introduce you to a new block to me....but one that reminds me a bit of the Flowering Snowball....it is the Alabama Beauty!

It is a lovely block....not sure my templates were all that accurate though....she took a bit of convincing....LOL!

And remember the sweet vintage tablecloths?  Well, I tore into one today....and used a section for a kitchen towel....

I added a Dresden....and rik-rak {that was a perfect match}.....and now it is hanging from my oven door...

Can you Believe It?

My sister suffers from terrible allergies and I received a text from her this morning asking me if I would be on the look-out for some hankies....

In an attempt to be 'green' she prefers hankies to tissues, but her collection is dwindling....

So after the text with the request she sends me a picture text....of one of her favorite hankies...I will spare you the gruesome details :)

WELL....with one look at the hankie I knew what it was....A Tammis Keefe!!!

I screamed a little and did a happy dance

This was my grandmother's hankie and it is still in perfect condition... 

If you don't know Tammis Keefe....she was born in 1913 and was a world famous textile designer.  She attended art school in Los Angeles and worked for Lord and Taylor.  She was only 46 when she died in 1960.

Today some of her designs are being re-issued by Michael Miller...and our shoppe has an entire shelf of Tammis Keefe fabric...

I have been meaning to purchase some to make a tea towel for my sister...so after the text...I hopped over to the shoppe to do just that!

My sister loves cats...so these are perfect for her!  I love the feathers flying around...hee hee!

Then I needed to make a stop at Hobby Lobby and I found this sweet trim...perfect!

Another project for me :)

A Royal Wedding Package....

Well....Molly has been cooking up a little surprise for someone.  Molly's friend has a grandma from Nottingham.  We all love the grandma!  And since the royal wedding is quickly approaching {oh what will I wear?}, Molly decided to surprise her with a few treats.

So for my part....I made a Union Jack pillow!

I had to square up the pillow to a nice 20 inches square....added some lovely dark blue stitching....

And there you have a pillow fit for a queen....hmmmm....

And Molly stitched a tea towel....

She used about a yard of toweling...hemmed both ends....

Added some trim!  We are going to complete this surprise gift with some tea and yummy cookies/biscuits!  She will love it!

I worked on another block for the New York Beauty....

Now I need to go clean my closet....ugh!

AHHHHH.....Technology!!!

Well, we have phone service but the internet is still not at all reliable and is running sooooo slow!  I guess the problem is a router (which we just purchased a couple months ago).  We ordered a new router and found out the current router has had very bad reviews....it is an AT&T router...not feeling the love for AT&T right now.   Ugh!

Working on a few more tea towels...

Molly drew the teacups!

I stitched using the free motion foot.  This Liberty fabric is such a delight to work with... 

  Working on a few other projects, the pickle-dish and quilting the zig-zag #2....but it is taking FOREVER to download anything right now....so that will have to wait for another day :)

On a positive note I am staying toasty warm hand quilting with the quilt over my lap...it is very cold in Ohio right now.  I guess winter has arrived!
