The Long and Winding Road....

Hello, its been a long time since I have been here. Whew!
Our house and life has been turned upside down! My MIL became very ill in April and is now living with us. This has changed our lives and routines!

But I try to squeeze in sewing where I can. I think its the only thing keeping me sane!

I have had the pleasure to make a couple of baby quilts...one for a great niece....

A triangle quilt made with mostly Sarah Jane's line Sommer.

And I had a very good friend who had a baby girl!!!

I will try to keep up better here. I had a dickens of a time trying to log in...a bit of a panicky minute!! Yikes!!!

Sometimes it is difficult to do all things and to do them at 100% or even 50%.... this upheaval started slowly about a year and a half ago. Then in April, it was a flood of worry, change and, to be quite honest, aggravation.  I am fortunate to have friends here at home and on the 'interwebs' who understand and have been truly very supportive. Even if it is only to listen to me complain.
thank you, friends :)

See you soon...

  2. So glad to see you back and hear you are still creating, even if it is behind the scenes. Those little bits of sanity time truly are a lifesaver, aren't they? :)

  3. Our lives really sound quite similar lately... not a lot of blogging or sleeping going on here either! Haha! I'm can definitely relate. I hope to add in more sewing time to my routine when my older kids are back in school. The baby quilts you posted here are absolutely exquisite. Bridger still uses the sweet triangle quilt you made for him 2 years ago. I wish our baby Violet could meet you and snuggle up with you like he did!

  7. I HEAR YOU!! My MIL does not live with us,(yet) but very trying time. Won't go to doctor, take medications, she doesn't trust anyone, won't listen to anyone,,,,uuugggh. And yes sewing is my sanity too!! Glad you were able to pop in here, love your work!! Always a caring, supportive, listening ear here, thank you for sharing! Knowing I'm not the only one with feelings of frustration, aggravation helps. Take care and keep stitching!

  11. I'm so glad to see you're back. I understand how it is to be in a state of transition. I haven't quilted in over a year and its due to moving, lack of space and waiting for my own space again. I can't wait to see more of your work again. Take it easy, and I hope to see you post again sometime :)
