My poor little blog has been neglected for far too long! It seems I can't get back into the regular blogging groove...
But that doesn't mean I haven't been sewing....
I have been buried under a mountain of Swedish Blooms!
If you haven't picked up Patchwork Please! by Ayumi Takahashi...you need to find a copy fast!
There is no doubt I love quilting and craft books...but this one is really good! I have used it many times for little gifts....
So recently, I decided to make the Swedish Bloom quilt as a sample and possible class for the shoppe
If you follow me on Instagram {marysdugan} you know I have been piecing blooms and leaves!
the top is finished....
it is not small, so a little difficult to photograph on my kitchen table...and it is far too cold to go outside!
I used Riley Blake gingham for the outside section of each bloom...
the border...I pieced using a plethora of Japanese fabrics and a good healthy dose of Suzy Ultman...
I need to get a backing {definitely gingham} and get to the quilting...
but today is a good day for some quiet hand stitching....
stay warm friends!
